Cartobibliographic notes:
Leve & Alden were a tourist information service as well as a printing house based out of New York City, but with branch offices around the United States. In addition to maps, the firm also published a monthly magazine titled the American Tourist Gazette. A short biography of the company appeared in the 1886 book Webb's Historical, Industrial, and Biographical Florida, Part 1, Wanton S. Webb, editor and compiler.
Date approximation is based on the extension of the South Florida Railroad into Bartow but the absence of the Florida Southern Railroad that connected Bartow to other Central Florida cities to the north. The South Florida Railroad also only connects Sanford and Tampa and lacks a connection to the north. That northern connection is present in maps dated to 1886.
