Cartobibliographic notes:
Map depicting the Seceding States and the years in which they were re-admitted into the Union. This map covers the entire eastern half of the United States and a portion of southern Canada. It also notes significant historical information by geographical location such as: major fires, riots, Centennial Celebrations, cyclones, yellow fever epidemic, etc. There are two inset boxes along the bottom of the map, one titled "Admitted Into The Union During This Period" and the other titled "Administrations During This Period". This map was likely taken from an atlas printed during the late 1880s as the "Administrations" table ends with the first President Grover Cleveland administration that began in 1885 and one entry notes an event occurring in 1886. Black stick-on lettering stating "1868 FLORIDA" is affixed to the upper center portion of the map. The reverse of this map page contains a partial table of "...DIVISIONS OF THE UNITED STATES" with information on various Territories and years of Additions, Subtractions, and the year when they were admitted.
