This is the map's 2nd edition, dated September, 1945, and revised on March 14, 1966. A stamp in the bottom right corner states that the map was "Corrected through notice to mariners No. 2 6 Jun 2 8 75 [�]" It is numbered 97562. Water depth is indicated with numeric labels throughout the map, and a conversion table of fathoms to meters is located near the bottom right corner. A table displaying tidal information is located beneath the title. Several areas of water around the island are tinted in green and blue. Iwo Jima is an island located in the western Pacific Ocean. It became a historic battleground between Japanese and allied troops during World War II.
